A TEDxPhiladelphia Adventure with the Rail Park

By The Rail Park (other events)

2 Dates Through Apr 08, 2017

ABOUT ABOUT

TEDxPhiladelphia is excited to present an Adventure with Friends of the Rail Park. The morning of April 8, join Friends of the Rail Park board members for a street-level walking tour of the proposed site of Philadelphia's next great public space.

This street-level tour will follow along elevated and submerged sections of the former Reading Railroad, and tour leaders will share stories of its history and visions for its future.

The tours begin at 21st and Pennsylvania Avenue on the east side of the Rodin Museum and proceed to 12th and Noble Streets, the site of Phase I, which is now under construction. Tours will cover a distance of 1.5 miles and conclude at approximately noon. Sturdy shoes or sneakers are recommended as we will be walking.

We are offering two tours, staggered 15 minutes apart. As space is very limited, the ticket you purchase is only valid for the time listed.  Tour 1 begins at 10:00am and Tour 2 begins at 10:15am.

We ask for a donation of $25 for each tour participant, which helps ensure Friends of the Rail Park all-volunteer nonprofit organization can continue to offer public activities and events like this one. The money goes directly to Friends of the Rail Park, not TEDxPhiladelphia.

Spaces are limited, so please notify us as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend by emailing [email protected].

Time:  Please be advised that the two tours will begin promptly at 10am and 10:15am and conclude around noon.

Location:  Beginning at the northwest corner of N. 21st St. and Pennsylvania Ave. and concluding at 12th and Noble.

Donation:  $25

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and help make public events and activities like tours possible. Additional donations can be made via the Rail Park website.

Additional Info:  Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather! In case this tour must be cancelled due to inclement weather, you will receive notice by email at least 2 hours in advance of the tour (we will reschedule the tour for the following Saturday). We are unable to offer refunds once you've purchased a ticket, but we are happy to show you how to forward your ticket to someone else to use!
